Here goes:

I hereby nominate a WHOLE Tom Petty album for the "Great Driving Songs" nomination

The album is aptly titled "Highway Companion", and I've seen it enrapture passengers
and not only the humble driver (yours truly).

Here's a sample, the whole album will keep you driving all night :)

Rick,
Love Locomotive Breath! Great version.
and I haven't seen Legs in ages.

Here are some choice attitude pounders for you.

LMBO! I just realized who I sing like! LOL

There are more, but this is a good starter list.

Starts quiet, but must have the windows up when the chorus goes up an octav.

Al- Lots of great songs here! I've been thinking of making a new mixed cd for the car, maybe I'll steal some of these and put together a driving cd. Here are two of my favorite driving songs:

Radio Nowhere by Bruce Springsteen:

Stuck Between Stations by The Hold Steady:

These are actually ALL great (I'm not going to comment on each one). I think Suzi's right that a killer playlist can be made from here.

Here's a few more.. a little more laid back, but still great to sing & drive to...

Steelers Wheel, Stuck in the Middle

The Wallflowers, One Headlight

"Dracula From Houston" aka "The Bike Song". Always caused me to turn up the volume on my way to the beach. The band never got much commercial airplay due to their name but the local surfer stations used to play it alot. Yes, I have a blue bike.
