I was very exithing of the world map and saw in in his early hours,,now when i do button(up on the right side)i can't get it,,the computer stay's on loading the thing,, is it my computer or is it something else that i need to do??
I'm having the same trouble and am guessing this has something to do with the database now being much larger. My profile page now hangs waiting for it to load unless I cancel the script. Maybe a default setting filtered for 'friends' or Target members would help?

I'm running into a bad script that hangs for about 10-15 seconds then runs for a bit then hangs....

MIne also takes a little while to load but hey its NZ and thats normal lol! One point though when I zoom in on a green arrow for Palmerston North which says 9 markers/members I get only one marker/member. I've noted that in a few places the Green arrow lists way more than actually seen when zooming in.

Hi Everyone,

To reduce the load time we had to take out some data temporarily while we work through the best way to implement this feature. Thanks for the feedback so far on this beta rollout. We are testing a few different approaches right now and will update over the next day or two for more feedback.

Mike

Thanks for the update, Mike. The map script no longer causes the profile page to hang and I can see more members in my area than I could before, so that all looks like good progress.

Hi Mike,

By the way, from what input do you determine a member's location? Is it from our signature, something we told you when we joined, our current IP address, or something else?

Went with IP for now so as to remove some privacy issues..we may make it an option to define your location later on..

Cheers

Hi Matt,

This seems like a good solution. It's a close enough approximation that we can find a way to get together and it doesn't have to be updated manually when we travel.

Thanks,
Stuart
