First off, wanted to check in and see how you are doing with this Al? Pretty much in the same boat myself.

I did find one thing that has peaked my interest, Simply put, it's a mic (or just a stand for a mic) that has a 'wrapped around' sort of Acoustic Barrier behind the mic attachment. sE Electronics makes several models from around $150us and up. The local GC has a floor stand model for around $200us. Just wondering if something like this would be worth the investment for us 'home studio' types?

There is also a package of 'Acoustic Sound Barrier' foam tiles, 1'x1'x2" and a package of 32 (giving 32 sq feet) for around $100us. Wondering if this would be sufficent without some sort of 'barrier' behind it?

Hi Wiley,

Good info on the sound barriers.

My music room won't be happening for a while yet, though. I don't particularly like debt, and I've got a few new things to pay off first before pulling the trigger. This thread is for me (and TG) to gather ideas for 'one day'.
