Nice job singing and playing Don't Worry be Happy. It was easy to tell you were having a fun time doing it, as it should be with a song like that.

I just got back yesterday from a visit to New York, they're having a month long jazz festival and I was lucky enough to get tickets to see Bobby McFerrin playing with the Yellow Jackets, a great jazz band.
He was very good and had a nice interaction with the audience.
He brought his son onstage and had him doing some beatbox while he did his incredible scatting.
He also asked if anyone in the audience knew the words to a song and he got them up on stage and sang it with them, of course this being New York, there was incredible talent in the room.

If anyone will be in New York City during the month of June and likes jazz, I would highly recommend checking out the Blue Note Jazz Festival

Anton

Robert "Bobby" McFerrin, (born March 11, 1950) which makes him 61.
He's getting a little gray, but he has a very youthful cheerful spirt.

Hey Max, thanks for the heads up about the Bluenote Jazz Festival. I am a native New Yorker and as such I’m usually oblivious to a lot of the wonderful things that go on around “the city”. I did check out the Bluenote Jazz Festival web site though and even though I missed Bobby McFerrin’s June 2nd performance I am going to see if I can score some tickets for some of the other great jazz talents that are scheduled to perform.

While I was there I also followed a link to the Bobby McFerrin web site and found something that may be of interest to you Anton. It’s an interactive audio player that allows you select any or all of the vocal parts (percussion, harmony, melody, rhythm 1, 2 & 3, bass) Mr. McFerrin used to arrange the original a cappella “Don’t Worry, Be Happy”. So Anton, next time you are channeling Bobby with your guitar and vocals you can play along with, or even use as a backing track, the bass line, or the mouth percussion, or some of the rhythm sections. I spent the last half hour playing with it and it sure beats a metronome. Here’s a link, the instruction are pretty self-explanatory.

Have fun and Be Happy!
