Percussion

I have enormous regard and respect for people who are good on percussion. When I have had the pleasure of playing with a drummer I have always wondered at the focus and precision and the complexity of the task. I have been to see Japanese drummers perform and been blown away by the performances. Even though the guitar is a percussive instrument, drummers are traditionally trashed (albeit in jest) here at TG. Recently I had a lodger, André, move into the music room for a few months and he majored in percussion at Lausanne University. Here's a taste of what he can do......

PS: He is not improvising, he is following a piece of written music ... in his head.

Amazing talent, I have always had a fascination and an admiration for drummers (or any musician for that), how they can keep several different rhythms going at once is beyond me. Such precision.
(The first part of the first video was like me trying to re string my guitar this morning.)
