>> So if we created a new theory course...
I've started going through the Acoustic Genius series, which is great, but have a lot more to do to take advantage of that package. So I'm a little embarrassed to add anything to this thread.
That are lots of great suggestions here, I'd pretty much be interested in all of them even if I don't get to them for a while.
I'd be especially interested in a package regarding how to practice efficiently and in general the things you should be trying to get down. Is there a logical order to learning different skills, are some prerequisite to others.
I'd also love something on song writing. Song writing 101 or less, what do you need to thinking about and how to start. Well I'd probably steal a progression and go from there. Again this isn't something I'm likely to do tomorrow, but it would be great to have this process demysterfiied a little.
Cori - WOW man! What a list!
But really I'm sure I'll love whatever comes our way.

another good song to do a 2-guitar study on is "Ramble On" by Led Zeppelin...
doing both pre-arranged 2-guitar arrangements as well as improvised ones would make my day
i would really like to be more well-equipped to freely "jam" with another player. right now i don't feel as comfortable with the improvising part...

Yes there is, Dermot. D'Addario has an excellent guide.Wrench Wrote:
I hadn't thought about string considerations when using alternate tuning.and an even larger collection string sets assembled for alternate tunings.
Is there a general rule of thumb regarding string guage on alternate tunings?
