I've always liked Hiatt a lot, and used to regularly put his "Cry Love" on mixtapes, back when mixtapes were a thing. That said, his song "Perfectly Good Guitar" always drove me up a wall, almost to the point of eclipsing all the great stuff he did. It just sounded so "you darned kids get offa my lawn!" That his somewhat clueless fist-shaking was so bewilderingly anachronistic (early 90s!) only made it worse. Made me want so smash up a guitar.
