It's interesting but I have mixed feelings about it. It's like the artists know that without all the affects they are just another dude with a guitar, so they have to put on a kind of magic show to distinguish themselves. I'm not saying that the result isn't impressive, but it still carries a bit of a "smoke and mirrors" feel for me.

You are absolute right Tony but it is funny to watch all this on the tube,,,for me I would keep it simple,lay down a basic strumming and try to play some scale/lead notes(for example),,I would'nt buy a whole row of that machines,,
