I've been keeping my eye on You Tube since I saw it take down channels belonging to good folks posting legitimate, self-generated content well within the fair use clauses. Podline66 was the first example I came across where Larry had been taken down twice and was having a tough time posting his songs. We've seen the US trying to sneak in laws which could be used to control and censor the net (SOPA/PIPA) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stop_Online_Piracy_Act
Wikipedea successfully protested.
Just caught this today where a huge channel, Alex Jones (Infowars) with 200'000 subs and 200 million video views is being harassed and threatened :

Just a heads up for people interested in a free internet and a functioning fair-use policy on YT.

Yeah we were talking about SOPA/PIPA a while back before it got stalled by public reaction, Wiley. Which is why the turn of events with Alex Jones/YT is important to keep an eye on. Thanks for the ACTA info. Switzerland and Italy are two places you don't want to get caught by customs with a faked Louis Vuitton handbag... cost you a couple of thousands on the spot!
You said it (or drew it) Dermot! There are dark types out there manoeuvring things into exactly that scenario for sure.

CISPA is latest internet censorship bill that threatens the free internet, and its just as odious as SOPA was. Lots to find when you google it, here's a recent (as of this posting) article in Forbes:

The internet is forcing companies to reassess 20th century business models in a 21st century world, and many don't like it. These are timely, and important, topics.
