The site is just not the same without the Walls; it was a great place to be frivolous and have fun, more importantly it was one of the best communication mediums around.
Lets see what people have to say..

I have mentioned before that the walls seemed to provide a communication opportunity and playground for some informal fun and this was a huge motor for the development of the site and was basically providing the social glue that made so many of us feel very attached to the site. The dynamic was overwhelmingly positive and constructive and I miss it.
At least a status box for momentary comments (like Facebook) would be a real plus IMHO. Its something that makes you feel more at home and tuned in... and I think its power to connect is underestimated.

I can trace my reduced time spent on the site to the day the walls were officially bulldozed. It was a great place to gossip, share dirty jokes, tell secrets, and speculate on things. Lessons aside, I'm on the site about 5 percent of the time I used to be.
Mr. Gorbachev, build up those walls!

No walls = no limerick parties. .... Which are one step away from song lyrics.... Which are a good element to have when creating songs....
So ... Do no walls lead to fewer songs?
... ..... And if a tree falls in the forest....
