Pretty cool over there in N America! Just curios, how are you all doing, are the bytes freezing in the internet pipes already, I mean, -50 Celsius is just a little bit too cold, don't you think! Hope everyone is safe. Post your cold stories and photos here... I wanna see Neil in long pants for the first time!!
Here its a snuggly plus 7 C and the sun is shining.... PLEASE tell me Florida and California is colder
Pretty cool.....
Yep. We just had quite the cold spell in Vermont. The coldest I saw (this time around) was -13°F (-25°C). No frozen pipes. But the goats and chickens hated it. The ducks loved it. And the sheep didn't seem to mind. The coldest I've seen in the last 5 years here was -28°F (-33°C). But right now it's 49°F (9°C).

Here's my car roof with about an inch of ice on it.
That was on the WHOLE CAR- and took me a half an hour to get into it!!
poured boiling water on the doors.

Chris:
The Midwest and the East Coast are certainly getting hammered here. I have some friends that are dealing with it now and they are hunkering down. Here on the West Coast, however, we are cozy and warm. Saturday was a nice 71 F. Kids even had a water fight. Evenings get a bit cooler, maybe down into the upper 40's. We are on the verge of a drought here in California. I am hoping for some normal rain falls, but the long range forecast for my area shows little between now and the end of February. That just means small snow pack again this year and another dry season. I am holding out hope for a March miracle... Along with you, I am wishing the best for my friends who are experiencing these very cold temps.

But the trees looked very cool.. like glass!
Well my "OLD" hometown (Palmer Alaska) is +34 this morning, and here in Columbia Missouri its -10. How can this be?
It is very frustrating here when we get 3" of snow and these weenies start cancelling everything in sight because the "Storm is just too dangerous". Yeah, right.

AcousticAl - where are those wonderful photos from?
Here in the DC area it is very windy (always a problem as trees get blown down and take the electrical wires with them).
Tomorrow it is supposed to get down to 9 degrees, with the wind predicted to be 10-20 mph.
So I'm just planning to stay inside and play guitar for a day or so.
