RIP, Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys and collaborator of innumerable other musical endeavors. He was widely regarded by his peers as a musical genius.
And with his passing, I believe this marks the end of a genre. The last piece I heard him sing was MacArthur Park on Jimmy Webb's album "Still Within The Sound Of My Voice", and it was spectacular. I will miss his music, and the many contributions he made to the soundtrack of my life, and I am saddened there will be no more.
