Guitar Selection For Large Fingers

Here's a technique that Tommy Emmanuel uses ALOT. He has quite long and fairly thick fingers, and he OFTEN frets 2 strings (on the same fret) with just 1 finger. My fingers are too skinny to do that. But if your fingers are thick enough, then it frees up another finger to be used elsewhere! This can be a BIG advantage, if you'll pardon the pun... For example, you could finger an A chord with just 2 fingers, instead of trying to cram all three of them in there... So instead of just choosing a guitar that suits your hands, you might also alter your technique to take advantage. And if you've never heard Tommy play, then check him out on Youtube. Always love Tommy. He plays just like I do. The only difference is it sounds good when he does it.
