Neil,
I'd like to ask about the training for classical guitar playing. In what way does it differ from acoustic guitar training? Your reply will help me choose a path. Thanks, Jim
There really isn't a specific difference between classical training and acoustic training in my book. Most of that would be because I really teach using classical techniques and concepts. Generally, classical players learn to read right away, pretty much the first thing on the agenda, along with proper hand position, etc. Acoustic players usually learn to play some chords and strumming patterns first, in order to play popular songs, but as they get into fingerpicking really need the classical techniques.
