Hi Neil
If it's alright with you, I'd like to pick your brains about fingerpicking guitar. For your information, I'd position myself firmly in what you would call an intermediate guitar player, I've been playing on and off for 20 or so years, I know a few scales, can play barre chords, and until recently, knew how to play a few songs but not all the way through (although due to this site, that is now starting to change:cheer: ).
I'm at a point in my playing where I'm looking more at what I don't know than what I know. I've decided that its time for me to to work on the areas I'm lacking..music theory is one (it's now a work in progress), and the other, which has frustrated me for years, is Fingerstyle playing.
I've been learning how to play fingerstyle rolls for a few months now, the area I'm having trouble with is going from fingerstyle rolls to being able to play songs where the bassline and melody are played at the same time..where you are accompanying yourself..so to speak. So, do you have any tips for me, and others like me, who are struggling to make the transition from rolls to accompanying themselves please.
If you need anyone to blame for me asking this, feel free to blame tommy emmanuel, chet atkins etc etc...and yourself!!
Thanks very much for your help, it makes a huge difference knowing that should I have any questions, I have someone knowledgeable to talk to.
Looking forward to the webinar at a time for us Europeans, as I have a few suggestions about the intermediate and advanced target sections for your consideration.
Thanks again
Joe
