Niel, this maybe a stupid question: But what is the best way of attaching string to
to tuning beg? Is there a proper way? I always seem to have truble with strings slipping
when I change them.
Thanks

There are a few different ways of doing this I for one would be keen to see Neils spin on this one. I like the Frets.com site mentioned previously it has a ton of useful stuff there.

I love the tangled picture. What a mess. LMBO!

It took me a week or two of breaking strings to get it right, but I have a really nice way of re-stringing now that works really well. If you like, I'll PM you the directions.

I so love this picture.

I think that was strung by a drummer.

*ROTFLMBO*
Sorry. My wife said that and I had to pass it on.

Lets just remember that just because someone plays drums or Bass does not mean they are stupid. (I know its only a joke, but new people might wonder) I know a bunch of both types and they are all great people.

I think I am text challenged as I do not know all the abbreviations, like *ROTFLMBO*. If I repeated what I thought it said I would get my mouth washed out with soap.

D'Addario and Elixir both have on their websites instructions to change strings.

I tried both methods, and I broke a few strings installed with the D'Addario method. In every case the strings broke at the no-slip lock loop right on the peg, and in every case the breakage occurred after alternate tunings. I am fairly certain I followed the instructions correctly, and.......

I have never broken a string installed with the Elixir method.
