This is a great song/cover--
One that I was going to add to the 'Covers that are better (as good as) the originals' thread.

I'm not a huge Ed Ved fan- but he nails this one!

Indio was the original artist. Off of the album Big Harvest from around '89' or so. Good song then as well, but I really like Eddie's version. In fact he did a great job on the entire soundtrack (IMO). I also like Gauranteed and Society as well.

Great add to the topic!

I'd be remiss if I didn't add that the lead singer in Indio is/was Gordon Peterson- from Ontario, Canada. The song did pretty well up here- but never really broke in the States. Peterson was dropped from his label and left the music biz.

It's a shame. Here's the amazing original..
Perhaps worth a TARGET short?

That's Right, I couldn't remember his name. Too bad he left, because the "Big Harvest" album I mentioned is quite good (IMO).

MJ,

I guess Indio's CD hasn't been available for a while and people have been wanting it. I checked itunes and puretracks and it's not there.

No one can understand why Gordon put out such a great album and then vanished. I guess we don't know his personal life and what he's going through- or went through.

Check out the comments in this link I found.. ANY of them!
The album seems to touch people on a different level.

This is available used for about US$15
No commercial link, but well-known online vendor name starts with 'A'.

Thanks Mark. I checked the Canadian version of the unnamed website and they have a few NEW ones there. Maybe A&M heard the rumblings and re-released it? Anyways, thanks for the heads-up.
