Hello from Wisconsin-

I'm pretty sure that in the lesson Neil recommends a "rock strum" (basically: Down, down up down up down up) for most measures. For the first E chord there needs to be an accent on the first beat. I think for the first line I play something like:

E .......................................................... E................................................ .............A..........................................................................D

Down (pause) down down up............down down up down up down up........down down up down down up..........down up down up up down up

I pretty much play that for my strum pattern throughout the verse, I think, until you get to the last line, where you move into the pattern for the intro. But obviously it's not set in stone, and mixing it up a bit sounds best.

Hope that makes sense!

Suzi
