Pink Moon - Chorus Right Hand Strum

I really like the closeup of the guitar with both hands in this lesson.
I've got the vamp and verse worked out but can't follow the right hand strum as you play it in the Chorus Lesson Part 6 between 2.28 and 2.39 minutes in.
Although the video section I have quoted above includes the hammer on, I couldn't follow the faster ( no hammer-on) strum explained a few minutes earlier.
You count out loud 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4, 1 2 3 4 but can't figure what up strums down strum and missed strummed I'm listening but my right hand just does not want to go there!

Earlier in Part 3 - Strumming you explain that the chords are strummed in pair with a slight difference in the second.
I eventually figured that out for the vamp and verse as there were a couple of slow explanation I managed to follow.

I wondered if you might explain / play a slo-mo demo in the weekly news of the Dm strum for the first 4 measures of the chorus.

Dermot there's no set pattern. If you play the chorus like V1 and V3 as you say you have the vamp down, that will be perfect.

Just get the strong downs on beat 1 and beat 4 of the first of the pairs of measures, the rest is random.

There's no value in trying to match every down, every up, and every missed stroke. You need to just play it till you get the feel, then you won't have to think about what every stroke should be.

Dean is right Dermot, that's the only reason why I didn't get into the answer of your question. Strumming ain't a mechanical thing, and you already know all about the right hand, which should be moving up and down at 'all times'. Just make sure you get the accents right and keep your hand moving. Hit the strings whén you want to hear them.

Dermot,
Now would be a good time to put up a vid to show how you're getting on with it and where you're struggling.
It might get you some more constructive feedback, even a video response?
I've experienced the frustration you're talking about, so I know any help is invaluable.
