Thanks for starting the Heliotrope Bouquet drip lessons.
Am I wrong to use the following right hand fingering on measure 6.
I did this automatically, but notice in Part 4 - Section A video you use different fingering.
What's considered best practice?
Can you advise on this a little ?
Thanks
Dermot

In Section A measure 22 - Triplet Roll....
Although you suggest placing the G chord first followed by the triplet, to achieve the 16th note timing.
Would the long term aim be to place the notes as required, triplets followed by the G chord ?
I ask because you can play it that way, as you do in the video.

Hi Dermot,
As far as the right hand fingering question, no problem using T to brush the 6th and 5th strings but I wouldn't suggest using i to brush up on the other 2 at the same time. I recommend using i and m in that case. You may have noticed I use T i m a for those 4 notes. This gives me better control of the separation of the notes.
On the triplet roll, even though it can be done without the chord on first, there are no advantages to that but there are disadvantages, the main one being the tone and clarity of the G chord can be compromised. This is a situation where opting for efficiency and accuracy over difficulty would be my suggestion. There are other situations where I might suggest learning to do it the harder way but that would be if there were a lot more similar situations you would be likely to come across.

I made an error in the picture I posted earlier, sorry!
I wasn't brushing with the first finger " i " , as you say, it's not good for the tone here.
My question was really about the double thumb, which you've said is fine.
I keep getting mixed up knowing when it's correct to move the whole right hand position up and down a string.
Thanks
Dermot

You've just posted Section D and I have two questions.
1. Rolling the Chords ...... I have been experimenting with rolling the chords but find it very difficult to get the clear
but rapid note separation, you get.
Can you share a few suggestions how to get this technique down ?
2. Ragtime Construction - INTRO AA BB A CC DD.
Can you explain a little further the reasoning behind such construction that defines Ragtime, with respect to other music styles.
Rephrased, why do you have to follow such a pattern for any tune. :S
