I appreciate Neil's segment in the Nobody Knows You When you're Down and Out lesson on the lead playing aspect. I have learned to play some lead thanks greatly to Neil but it occurs to me that one aspect has not been discussed, unless I missed it. That is, WHEN to play and when NOT to play. I think all of Neil's comments on lead in this lesson, for instance, would apply to the instrumental break specifically, though that is not made clear. When I play lead in jams around here, I keep it soft or non-existent when there is singing happening. You can throw in short licks at the end of sung lines or during pauses but it is important not to step on the singer. I'd be interested in Neil's comments on this subject and feel it would be of value to others too.

We need more lead playing to the lessons, it will make it so much more then a campfire song.

Working on "Teguila sunrise" made me say this
