I worked out what my problem was and I think it's just and Audio Illusion, (compared with Optical Illusion).
For example if you place to identical curves side by side one can appear smaller / larger.
In measure 13 the middle two notes ( E and D ) on the D string when played in the play through, to me, sounded closer together when listening.
They are all eighth notes, so .... it can be.....
Maybe it's just me !
