Tom,
What is 'Twee'?
It's a Scottish word which in short means naff! square or nauseating may be a closer answer.

This is the internet definition:
Something that is sweet, almost to the point of being sickeningly so. As a derogatory descriptive, it means something that is affectedly dainty or quaint, or is way too sentimental.

In American English it often refers to a type of simple sweet pop music, but in British English it is used much more widely for things that are nauseatingly cute or precious. It comes from the way the word sweet sounds when said in baby talk.

Hope this helps.

Maybe it's not a very Scottish attitude..... but in reality .... how Scottish are we now..... but it suits tourism.

The Bus anthem could be...

It's never been an interest for me.
Although my Dad and brother were / are fanatics.... I simply avoided it.

Actually I went once.... but couldn't see anything .... or feel anything other than cold and bored!

:)

My father and brother did not care for football, but I on the other hand play 5s once or twice a week, so I can relate that it is not everyones bag.
