Er, Stuart, since when is Hertfordshire next door to Lancashire?!!

I reckon that this illustrate quite well the difference between how we (from this little country) view distance in comparison to you americans (from a big country). A 4hr drive wouldn't get you far over there - proportionally, of course.

For those who didn't already know that England is the size of an Australian postage stamp, here's where Lancashire and Hertfordshire are located with respect to each other. Lancashire has Liverpool and, until not so long ago, Manchester.
