Hi Vanessa,
welcome from Scotland, hope you are enjoying the site. I see you have Tanglewood guitars, one of mine, the one I play most often is a Tanglewood Heritage TW45H. It is a little folk guitar, electro acoustic but it feels just right for me. I also like some of the Taylor guitars and will definately get one of those in the future.
All the best,
Tom N.
Another introduction..

hi vanessa and welcome to the target program/community!
great intro! thanks for that! great pic, too!
attached is a picture of my 9yr old son who i'm "kind of" teaching guitar. he's been taking "real" piano lessons for over 5yrs now, so he actually knows more music theory than me, can read music, and has a great ear and memory for all kinds of music. hopefully he'll have this picture to post when he joins TG at age 38 and tells the members in his forum intro then how lucky he was that i taught him when he was a kid!
enjoy vanessa - great to have you here. we'd love to hear/see some performances from you!

Vanessa- big welcome to the program from Portland, Oregon on the West Coast of the USA. We're so glad to have you with us!
Great introduction and I can't wait to see your first video. Please let us know if we can every help you with anything and I hope you are as active on the forum as our other two Dutchmen, Willem and Anton. They have both been major contributers to our site and have both become great friends.
By the way, your English is outstanding! Did you become that good in Dutch schools or have you lived in an English-speaking country? Very impressive.
Good luck, have fun and cheers! :cheer:

Oh gosh, thát is so sweet! The pic of your son, and yés he'll be grateful to you forever! I know I gave my father a hard time teaching us, but now, whenever I see him, I keep telling him how gratefull I am, your son will too!
Thanks for your warm welcome!
Thanks for your warm welcome!
Hi Big Bear, thank you so much for your welcome and compliment!
And yes, in Holland we do have english in highschool, most of the dutch people speak english well enough. We also have a lot of english on tv with subtitles, wich is really not common in Europe, except for the northern european countrys.
As for me, along with guitarlessons, my father also gave us a course of english lessons, so we could speak english before we went to highschool, so that was really nice of course! But also in later life, my sister lived in Los Angeles for eight years, and I've been there many times, wich contributes to that as well. At least I'm doing well enough, enough to join all of you here!
Anyway, thanks again and I do hope to upload some playing of me here and there!
Cheers!

How would going to the USA contribute to learning English??But also in later life, my sister lived in Los Angeles for eight years, and I've been there many times, wich contributes to that as well.

Now you are creating some G.E.S. (Gear Envy Syndrome).
Welcome !

Oh, I imagine you've encountered G.A.S. (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) since you've joined TG.I have to admit that I have lots of guitars, my acoustic ones (steelstring and classical) are Tanglewoods (and another classical LAG-one), they're great ánd payable, haha! And of course an electric one, a Fender (finally) and a jazz-guitar (Peavey) and two bass-guitars (acoustic and electrical), a Yamaha 12-string, so finally after collecting them after several years, I'm satisfied!
Now you are creating some G.E.S. (Gear Envy Syndrome).

Hi Tom,
Thanks for you welcome! I had to google your Tanglewood guitar and what a beauty!
Tanglewood has great guitars, but I don't meet a lot of other people playing them, so that's a coincedent, do you have video's playing it? Very curious for the sound of course! I should check your profile i guess.
Anyways, thanks again!
