Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. And special thanks to reiver for the rhythm lesson. Some of those moves are just way too advanced for me, so I think first I'll just work on getting friendly with my metronome.

Welcome to the site Stuart

If you do get friendly with a metronome, can you let us know please, some of us are still at war with them and need all the help we can get

Picked up my new guitar from the shop this afternoon and played around a bit for the first time in ten years -- played with a plan for the first time in perhaps 30 years. A very humbling experience, I have to say. Just spent an hour or so stumbling through scales and getting a feel for the instrument.

It's good to be back, but there's clearly a very long road ahead. Glad to be sharing it with you all.

Stuart

Don't leave us in suspenders what kind of guitar did you get or have I been afflicted with BigBearzheimers and you've already mentioned that?

It is a long road won't take long to catch up here at TG though

It's a Martin 000-28EC -- a beautiful guitar of which I'm not (yet) worthy.

I quite agree, but hey to avoid yourself stressing just send it over to me, look it's no big deal really, I've got broad shoulders and can handle the burden of such a guitar lol

You need to be playing 'Lucky Man' now. An 000-28EC is on my wish list, rather expensive here in NZ though
