Introduce yourself. What is your name and location?

Diane - I live in Ohio.

Tell us a little about your story, you can tell us your age if your game but not necessary (or age bracket, we have a truly diverse group). When did you take up guitar? How long have you been playing? What led you to look for lessons or help, how is it you ended up here?

I started guitar around the age of 15. But seriously started to play in my 40's. I enjoy playing acoustic and enjoy playing more for relaxation and the wind down at night after work. It brings tranquility and a peacefulness to the end of the day.

What Kind of Guitar do you play? Do you have any others in your stable? Do you lust after anything else specifically? (all of us here have the 'disease' it seems)

The Martin is my guitar of choice - it has such a rich sound. I also have a Fender strat. I don't play that as much, since it's a bit loud at night. I'm looking to upgrade my Martin to a D28. My husband has bought both of my guitars for my birthdays. I'm hoping he sees the catalog pictures I leave open on the counter for that beautiful Martin D-28. My birthday is getting closer!

What is your favorite music to play? How about to listen to? What kind of playing styles would you like to learn or already know?

I enjoy playing any acoustic piece that has alot of finger work. Music-wise I listen to about every type of music. Not a great big fan of rap or twang country. I would like to learn more blues-type music.

If there was one goal you could accomplish in your learning journey what would that be? or maybe you have many?

NO real goals. Just enjoyment, relaxation and keep learning new songs. Although, I would like to learn how to play with a pick. Since I play more music pieces with all of my fingers, I've gotten away from the pick. Now everytime I try to play with a pick, it somehow ends up flipping into the hole of my guitar.

If you are comfortable share with us your work a little, job, business, whatever you want to say.

I'm a Pharmacist - which believe it or not can be an extremely stressful job. I work 12 - 13 hour shifts with no breaks and my mind needs to be working at full capacity for the duration. When I come home, I'm pretty tired but my mind still goes a mile-a-minute. My guitar is my savior.

Anything else you would like to share ? Anything about your family, hobbies outside of Guitar? On the site you will meet everyone from golfers to Gourmet Chef's to car nuts, and sports folk..and everyone in between. Whatever else you may want to add?

I'm married to a wonderful guy - 29 years. I have a 21-year old son who's just a great young man. I'm very blessed in life. My husband and I are car lovers. We love fast cars and the beautiful older Caddies. We enjoy closing our eyes, pointing to a place on the US map, jumping in our little Crossfire, and taking the back roads to get there. I love golfing, boating, snow skiing, and playing frisbe. I love watching NFL football. I'm a very battered Browns fan, but have Dallas as my backup.
