Hiya Mike … *waves from NYC* and welcome to TG.

Nice intro with a story not unlike many of us here. Indeed my hair no longer reaches my shoulders and I’ve had a real job for more decades than I care to count. Life got in the way of ‘makin music’ for way too long of a time but I’m very happy to be back at it for the past few years. Even if the decibel level is considerable lower than it used to be. I love the 12 string although I don’t own one. I really ought to look into it because so many of the songs I enjoy playing sound so much better on a 12.

As you’ve probably seen, there is a great community of fine folks here to play with (literally and figuratively) so if you have any questions about anything just ask.

Oh, and you can count me among those who are anxious to hear you put that 12 string to work. The busking channel is wide open :-)

Yeah those thin G,s can be problematic.Tip.Warm strings before use.Adjust tension slowly in stages.Use good quality strings.I use Martins in light gauges and havent't broken a string in some time.
