We need your help testing these video resolutions...
I am on a wireless network with a new Laptop (PC). The bit rate comes up at 500 and stays there for the preview. I switched to the left hand and the bitrate dropped to 180. I changed my screen resolution manually to high and it looked "muddy" I switched to high and low a couple times and then it went right to 500. My new laptop has High Def 1920x1024 and when it went to the 500 it looked great. I will try again on my desktop.

When I start a video, the quality seems to be medium, but it shows 500 bit rate. If I change to medium (Bit rate changes to read 220 and video quality doesn't change), let it run for 10 - 15 seconds, and then change to high (bit rate changes to read 500), then after about 10 - 15 seconds the video quality improves dramatically.
So, it seems like I have to manually shift down to medium and then back up to high to get the best quality video. It never locks up or pauses during this process.
Mine is similar to AcousticAl with a slight difference . . . .Video loads and works well. Defaults to 500.
But I don't think that's the highest quality. I can click on 'high resolution' and get even better quality, but the bitrate count doesn't change.
Also, I need to switch to medium- then back to high quality to engage it.

Auto-negotiated to 500 for me and looked and sounded great, even full screen, as long as I didn't choose anything in the "resolution" drop down. However, if I choose any of the resolutions manually, low, medium or high, the video quality gets really bad, even though it still says 500kbs. I have a fast cable connection and 802.11N running on a new MacBook Pro. So I guess, I'd say it looks fine, as long as I don't choose any manual settings. I think for me, the old "High Quality" option looked better, but I understand the "greater good" aspect.

I agree with this as well, this particular video does this for me as well. I think it's a file issue not a streaming issue. The only other lesson I remember that just doesn't work:
Tools and Techniques: Strumming with a Pick: Plays for only 0.44 seconds and then the loading circle appears forever!
Strumming With A Pick
Defaulted to 220, but still played ok, all the others played through also, but hey it 3.00pm and the Net doesn't get hit hard till after school about 4.00pm. Will try again then when the pressure is on.
Quality would be as expected but hey if this works at lower resolution i'll gladly put up with it.
