Hi Neil, just a quick question. When for instance in the first bar of the chord solo version of Landslide the pinch has a G on the high E string followed by a G on the same string, would it be best to use alternating (M A) fingers on the high string, or is it better to keep the fingers I M A on their normal positions? which would mean hitting the G each time with the A finger. I can play it either way, but I have a tendancy to want to alternate the fingers on the high note. Just wondered what would be best, as for instance if I am playing Here comes the sun chord solo, I use alternating fingers for this. Hope this is clear?

Regards,

Tom N.

The best rule of thumb is if they are consecutive eighth notes, especially on the same string, alternate fingers.

Neil, that sounds more like a rule of fingers than a rule of thumb!! Ha ha.... You set yourself up for that one!
