After the posting last week of the Donovan song by Chris and the comment about protest songs that are still relevant today, I thought I would try one. It has 3 chords, A, D, E and is a bit monotonous :)

The song is called Deportee - Plane Wreck at Los Gatos; lyrics by Woodie Guthrie, music by Martin Hoffman

Sometimes picking up a guitar and singing a song can be a political statement!

You my friends are the best! Gosh I just couldn't stop blushing and smiling and so on  :cheer:  :cheer: .....you're so sweet...

Suzi: Haha!  Uh.....yeah, U2 doesn't use that many chords in their songs, often just 4-6, but that's about it. And yep, even just three! In the end, it's really Bono's amazing vocals and lyrics, Edge's very own sound of guitarplaying, and Adam's and Larry's driving rhythm-section wich really forms the great band that they are. Not much music-theory going on in there, except for knowingt the chordprogressions! :P Am so very happy to hear that you digged the medley-thing and that it added to your repertoire, just só great to read your reply, thanks!!! :cheer:

Cori: I miss and love you too big guy...(yes people, Cori is really tall, haha, that was so funny to notice when meeting him!)...I said to Suzi yesterday that the day we met was wáy too short, we barely talked, played a lot of course....oh well, I'm definitely aiming for another occasion! ;) Anyway, back to your reply, actually you left me speecless as well, my gosh, you're too kind and funny and sweet and   .....and i guess I know what you mean by the 'zone'-thing, I very much love to sing those songs, so i did kinda lose myself in the music and the fun of it, and it's indeed SO much fun! So very great to have been able to share it here. And yes, I just had to include your MUG! :P Thank you so much my sweet friend!

Shel:   Gosh woman, I was already a bit speechless and then you on top of Suzi's and Cori's comments.......   ...I can't thank you enough...you're just too %#$@%@$#%@ sweet!! ......anyway, your rave just leave me totally speechless..... :woohoo:

Daryl: Ha Daryl! I finally did it! :woohoo: :woohoo: Thanks!! :silly:

Dennis: That's what I mean.....I couldn't stop blushing last night, it got even móre...   ...lost for words....thanks Den, you're a sweetheart....as you must know, truly means a lot to me.. and I so love the openness.... ;) Oh, wait, before I forget, I was só hoping for someone to join me on the singing for 'Still haven't found'. I've played this song here and there throughout life many times, and lots of folks joined me there, that was SO much fun, it actually sounded fantástic, including the ending, truly a singalong-song, many harmonies possible, I'm sure you and I sounded awesome together!!! ;)

MJ: Ha Jason! Haha  , I hear you loud and clear!!! You're a sweetie, thank you so very much!! :cheer:

Marc: Aaaah Marc, how great to hear from you:) :)! And so great to hear you've enjoyed it, thanks so much!!

Scott: Yep, fun, fun, fun :silly: , it's the main thing when it comes to playing music right?! Really great to hear that it comes across and that it is enjoyable to watch, thanks Scott!

Bob: Haha  ! So you lasted till the very end?! Phew!! :woohoo: Thanks a lot Bob, truly appreciate it!!

Stuart:   ......well I just loved to read your reply....so funny and sweet at the same time...smiling, smiling, smiling!!! Thanks Stuart! :) :)

Pierre: Pierre, there are a few around here that always crack me up with their dry humor and/or colourful comments, and you're définitely (out of three) one of them, haha ! I couldn't be happier with your reply!.....didn't you have this spine-meter or something, what did you call it? Anyway, just thrilled that you've enjoyed it that much, thanks Pierre!!

Willem: Haha  ! Willem, you're a sweetie! It was some sight indeed, thank you so much!!! :P

Gosh people, you're all something else.....thanks!!

Well, Daryl showed his face, Chris reminded me to get out of my comfort zone, and Cori passed the guitar to me. I think it would be rude to not take the guitar!

Craig

Thanks Vanessa! ;)

Sweet! Sounds great Craig. We'll be looking forward to it. (Wonder what Mr. Classical Gas will come up with?)

Wow, Craig I'm really glad you took that LEAP! Very, very enjoyable!! :) :) (Maybe this will be the first of many more like this for you? Hope so!) I thought your playing was just great!! And your vocals were pretty durn good. "Vocally" your rendition actually reminds me of the Pearl jam version of this...which i actually like Vedder's singing better than Lennon's. (I know that probably isn't a real popular statement here in Totally Beatles Central lol!)

Great job Craig!! So glad you did this. I sincerely thought you did just great & made quite a contribution with this!

Thanks for your kind words and encouragement Cori. I never sing in front of anyone except my family (and they usually tell me to stop! ). The fact that I was willing to do this says a lot about the TG community. The positive vibe and support from my Target friends is unbelieveable! Plus, this thread has been so much fun, and I hate to miss out on a good time! :)

Thanks again,

Craig

Hey Craig,

Great to see you over here.

Seems to me like you've got those passing notes under control. Good job. You made them look easy.

Nice addition. I enjoyed it. Hey! ... You Don't hav to hide yourself away. ;)

Thanks
