Hi Gang,

Larry, our official TotallyGuitars video guy, asked everybody who attended the International Guitar Camp to shoot their own short video review. Here is one from Tom Gilmore from the Sierras in California.

Tom

Wow, great of you to let us in on your IGC experience.

It's an excellent looking guitar.
I'd like one of them too.

Loved your play through.
Singing too, great job.

I wonder if Neil could make a review of each IGC'rs play out
It could be done randomly over a period of time.
Just a thought.

Anyway Tom , thanks

Great choice of guitars by the way. Love the sound of the Martin guitars.

Very nice playing and singing. I hope to see a lot more from you here on the Forum!!

Thanks again.

Hi Tom,

It was nice to see your video. There were a lot of us at camp and we had so many activities and lessons to attend to. I don't think you and I spoke much (at all?). I wish I had known you were a dylan fan. I would have loved to play that song with you.

Thanks Dermot,

I wanted to be spontaneous, and when I look back at the video, that transformed into awkward and unprofessional.

On the song the vocals go high at the end and between trying to hit the vocals, play the song, and still look into the camera I lost it. So more practice is in order.

But it is very nice that the forum is so supportive.

I didn't really like the mic on my WebCam, so I think I will experiment some more.

Thanks for the feedback.

Thanks Kevin,

I wasn't very happy with the results of the WebCam Mic, so some experimentation is in order. The guitar has the soft warm and somewhat dark sound that effects me and I didn't feel that come across in the audio. I didn't expect to become a sound engineer when I started playing guitar but it may become part of the job. Thanks for taking time to watch the video.

Hi Sandy,

It was so fun to converse with you at the open mic during IGC. I saw your "Fly on the Wall" videos on the John Denver song earlier today, which is funny as I was working on the much simpler "Sunshine" song myself this week. Last week I was working on Grandma's Feather Bed (too fast), this week Sunshine (too slow), maybe Promises will be just right.

Actually, I want to get to Fly Away, but I have difficulty with deeply emotional songs causing me to tear up when trying to play them. Hopefully there is a cure for that.

Thanks for taking the time to watch the video.

Hey JimC JimC,

We did speak for a short moment on the first day, basically about the vocal range of Bob Dylan being a good fit for both of us. The other Dylan songs in my repertoire (but I haven't memorized "all" the lyrics) are the Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll, and Tangled Up In Blue, which I noticed in TG that Neil does not do the same way as I do, and I am not ready to change yet.

It is always nice to meet up with a fellow Dylan fan. Maybe we can work up a "North Country Girl" duet for the next IGC.
