Hi Everyone,
John Renbourn was, by far, the biggest influence and inspiration in my musical life. He died on March 26, 2015 at the age of 70.
About a week later, after listening to his music almost non-stop, I sat down to share and reminisce over what he meant to me. I have to say that I am incredibly fortunate in many aspects of my life, but getting to meet, know, perform, and collaborate with my biggest musical hero is the high point of my professional career.
This series of thoughts and stories may come out fairly scattered but I hope you enjoy them.

Thanks for that Neil. You must have been going through some very mixed emotions there recalling the joy of meeting John and coming to terms with his passing.
Can you link us to those videos of John's workshop you mentioned?

Thanks for sharing your story of John, Neil. I found him through you, and I've been amazed by his creativity.
I know it's bitter sweet for to go through all of this now, so thanks again. I'm looking forward to your next installment.

Sorry that you lost such an important person Neil. He was a great musician And it sounds like you two were kindred spirits. I'm sure he would be really pleased to know that you cared enough to share his story and all that he has meant to you. I think the greatest compliment anyone can receive is knowing that they will be missed, and so fondly remembered.

Many thx Neil.. I saw John Renbourn and Jacqui McShee in London much later , late 90s, probably around the same time John was coming out to do the workshops with you . A wonderful concert with a mix of instrumentals and songs, John was on very fine form indeed.
