Nicely done. I'd love for you to teach that to me. When are you coming back to visit the folks at Timberland?

Way cool Mark! I thought the "attitude" was perfect for that song ... I could feel Mick in the singing. Great job and perfect kick-off for the Stones Busking Thread.

Dennis - As always thank you very much. You need to dig that album out again :)

Jay - Thank you. I'm available pretty much any time. I'll send you an email.

Chris - Thank you, thank you. I need to keep myself busy with the never ending snowfall around here. More Stones to come.

Mark,

You're way too hard on yourself. Who said you couldn't sing and play at the same time, I thought you did a great job. :woohoo: :woohoo:

Thanks for sharing,

Bob

Really enjoyed it Mark, I like the ( good ) attitude giving a good spirit to your playing. The hammer on are very lively.

Hey Mark, your fingers sure weren't sticky for this performance !

Ain't it great to play a rowdy stomping strumming tune, a real change from the delicate tippie-toeing of finger-picking?
Loved your embellishments, and sung like a true outlaw ;)

A nice eclectic choice of song there, got me hoping you'd drift off into "Sweet Virginia", which is another shoe-scraping tune us wild and crazy outlaws like to sing ... er, when the boss don't mind. :S

Dug that Markus!! I have a tab for that similar to what you played but I like slightly different your version way better! You kept a static I, IV, V progression from getting boring with all those nifty embellishments. Which, I think with a strummer song like this...can be tough. I really hope Neil does a lesson on this (maybe even with some of Keif's string bends and little fills.) Your good and interpreting this stuff Mark. I thought it was really cool.

Bob & Marc - Thank you.

Pierre - Yes it was a nice change to get back to something like this after all the practicing I've been doing fingerpicking lately. Sweet Virginia....... Shhhhhhhhh..........Ya never know.....

Lueders - Thanks!! I just watched some YouTube videos of the Stones playing to get the chords and tried to figure it out from there. This song really does need another guitar player to play the lead licks and fills as you suggested.

Mark -

Great job on an awesome song choice! Agree with all the others, your style of strumming and hammer-ons was spot on. Impossible to listen to this without tapping my foot to the beat.

I also agree that you're farther along in your singing than you seem to think. You don't seem to have any problem maintaining a vocal rhythm and playing rhythm simultaneously, I think that's something many others struggle with.

Jeff
