Thank you Bill. You are a sweetheart. I already knew I was going to like you when we met, just from talking to you on the TG forum. Jim is right, you have a really nice voice and I loved your open mic performances. I hope I see you again, maybe at next years IGC. :)

Hi everyone.

I'm sitting at SFO waiting for a flight to LA after spending another couple of great days in San Francisco and Sausalito with the mustachioed zombie. I'm still cruising at altitude after an amazing camp and a fun post-camp. I'm still processing everything. I expect I'll wake up from the dream soon. :)

I doubt I'll do justice to how I feel about the whole thing, but I'll try a little.

I absolutely achieved my goals for camp. I got up and performed and performed and performed at the open mics getting a little less petrified each time. I learned some new stuff. I performed with other people. I meet a bunch of TG friends and got to know you a bit better. I made some new Guitar buddies and most of all I had HUGE fun. That was all possible due to the mammoth pre camp and during camp efforts of Neil, Nani, Vanessa, Dave, Doug, Jim, Lynn and a bunch of others no doubt that I'm not even aware of.

I simply had an amazing time. The love and support you showed me and each other is a large part of why the camp is so special. I'll treasure my camp memory and I hope to join you all again some time.

Thanks for the chats, music and the laughs. I loved every minute of it.

Shel

Edit - I KNEW I was going to forget people. Thanks Larry and Wiley too and everyone else who I should be thanking but haven't thanked yet because my brain is too tired to remember.

Seems like just yesterday I was waiting in front of my house for the airport shuttle to pick me up for my flight to San Jose. In the blink of an eye I'm back in my boring (and way too quiet) living room. It was great seeing everyone again, and I think this year I could remember last names as well as first names. (Well, mostly. :( )

Thanks to Neil and Nani for all their preparation (and goody bags!) and for providing a hangout for those of us who were always waiting around for something, like presentation center opening, hotel check in time, or flights home. I lost track of how many meals I had at their house. (And how much wine I consumed.)

Thanks to Wiley for bringing the BBQ, which was great as usual. And Wiley, please pass on thanks to the cook.

Thanks to Larry for all the work in setting up the recording equipment and capturing the performances so we can re-live them over and over until IGC 2017 gets here. (Are the videos ready yet? Huh? Huh? No? Then when? :woohoo: )

Thanks to Sandy for still letting the Pips play with her after we teased her continuously for a year for missing the D7 chord. There's nothing to tease her about this year.

And thanks to Neil, Vanessa, Dave, Doug, and Jim for the workshops and lessons.

OK...I think I've got a bottle of wine around here somewhere...and there's already 3 camps worth of videos to watch...and dropbox... B)

Til next year,

Marc

I’m another one who can hardly believe camp is over. My voice has just about recovered, and I’ve more or less caught up on sleep. For me, the year is divided into two parts: IGC, and waiting for IGC. Now that the long “other season” has begun, and all of us jugglers, clowns and acrobats have scattered with the breeze, where do I start with the thank you’s.....

Of course, thanks to Neil, Dave, Doug, Vanessa, and Jim for another great year of workshops and lessons.

Thanks to Larry and Allen for all the hours spent capturing these great moments on video, and the time that will be spent sorting through and editing the hours of footage. With all of the great performances that took place this year, we’re very lucky to have you guys to chronicle them and enable us to relive them.

Thanks to all of those who mustered the courage to perform for the first time at one of the open mics - year after year, these are always the most inspirational moments of camp.

Thanks to Victor for getting the house rocking at the end of open mic night 3 with “Lights” by Journey. That song, with everyone standing, singing and waving their lights, was one of the coolest moments of any of the 4 IGC’s - I still get chills thinking about it.

Thanks to my fellow “St. Joseph Brothers” - I can’t think of anyone I’d rather count flowers on the wall with. And thanks to Ron Blue and Bob Schembre for including me in collaborations - guys, we’re down to about 51 weeks until IGC 2017, we’d better get going...

Special thanks to Dave for your sharing your amazing talent and energy with all of us. Neil said in his wrap-up that you and I were the main perpetrators of the all-night jams (maybe so, but we had lots of accomplices). The difference is, you were doing it after teaching multiple times each day and performing multiple times each evening - unbelievable.

Above all, thanks to Neil and Nani and all of the Hogans for once again making all of us feel like a part of their wonderful family, and for the hospitality shown to those of us who were around before and after camp.

See you at IGC 2017...

Jeff (aka “The Jukebox”)

Thx to everyone for making this camp every bit as special as my first camp last year.

I'm back home now for 24 hours and already feeling late to the thank-you thread. So i'll cheat and thank everybody who has already been thanked so eloquently in the posts above, and i'll commend Paulette's email of ystday which spoke so articulately about how and why IGC works so well by giving room for everybody to collaborate and appreciate the contributions of each and every one.

And a few personal thanks of my own.....to Ron Blue and his lovely wife Debbie for looking after us in Monterey and hosting a wonderful sailing trip, to my partners in the songwriting session Geoff and John L , and to Dave and Neil my thx for your generous response to our song and last night performance, to Bob S for giving me the chance to stand at the dining room mics like Paul and Artie for a thrash through Mrs Robinson at the final dinner, to Andy my Brit companion for tolerating with good grace my many and varied traveling moods, and lastly to my zombie partner Shel of course for agreeing to saunter round Sausalito and San Francisco for a couple of days wearing a very fine hat indeed.

somewhere down the road.../ david

I echo everyone's sentiments on a job well done by all the organizers, and especially to Neil & his family for always making us feel like welcomed friends and providing those little extra touches to let us know you care (too many to list, and I'll only forget a few)

To all my bunk mates in lower level of Cosa Maria - you guys were great; we were never in each other's way. Dan (my room mate) - you are the quietest guy ever. I'm glad you're now a committed IGC'er!

All the new people I met - I enjoyed everyone of you. Some of my happiest memories are helping coaxing the newbies to open mic - you guys all did great, and I hope the fears are subsiding.

To all those who played open Mic & dinner with me (Kurt, Jeff, Dave N, Dave F) - you guys definitely made me sound better ... as Jeff said, "I'm planning next year's collaboration". My "JUST A FISH" cowriters - Bob L & Andy - I don't care what was said in the wrap-up, it's the new toe-tapping sensation that's sweeping the nation! :-) It's always a blast playing with you two, and I love that we got to work on a project together.

And to all the Jammers - WOW!!! I never went to bed before 3AM, and just to relive that excitement, it's 2AM and I'm writing this! And thanks for letting me play bass!

I know I'm missing a lot, but just a big thank you to everyone - it's all you who make IGC what it is!

Bob

My turn now to add thanks to all :

to the Monterey sailing crowd especially the boat owner, and the divine providence that kept the weather calm in the Bay that day.

to the provider of the BBQ , now an inseparable part of the pre-IGC festivities.

to Neil , Nani and the rest of the family behind the scenes

to Dave Doug & Vanessa for the instruction and entertainment through the week

to everyone else for making the week such a success

and for not throwing me out for performing 'The Lodger' (but it was a close thing).... :)

See you all next year (assuming I'm invited back)

Andy

PS I agree with Bob that our Fish song got very bad press!!

Bob & Andy,

I did not mean to bad mouth the Fish song, you guys just made it look too easy while everybody else was struggling with writing a song. I have to admit it is very catchy and did run through my head a few times over the next couple days.

Neil

P.S. We should have video of it available soon to share with everybody.

Hey Neil...take a tip from an ex-management consultant - When in a hole, stop digging !!!! Geoff and i were not 'struggling to write a song'.. we were working to a 24 hour timetable including edits.

BTW - i love the fish song, and emailed Bob to tell him so.. Go Fish !!
