Ness and Corrina, loved watching and listening to you both having so much fun. The singing and harmonies
also gave me chills as Cori I think, mentioned earlier in the thread. That was just great! I sat smiling all the way through that.
Thanks for sharing. You are so funny Ness when you have had a few.

Well I was wondering where you were hiding Chris. Now I KNOW that you've got a stack of suitable songs for this thread; you know 5...-ish chord songs. Anything you love playing that's not a brain strainer. You can't take your eye off the ball for a moment at TG, can you! Great thread here which I didn't notice til 4 this morning (couldn't sleep). When a thread gets over 2500 views and 128 replies in 2 weeks, there must be something good inside.
I've been loving these very relaxed, out-there videos where no one is going for perfection but just having some fun with spontaneous stuff... as Pierre said, just passing the guitar around. I've seen a really relaxed Michele having some serious fun, Daryl playing with my girlfriend Amy (how come nobody told me!), Cori showing who's boss in his wife's house(atta girl Krista!), Vanessa as Elvis and on harmonies, Stuart growing a beard live, Jim mixing it up and how much fun was Dennis having being the King? Priceless!

Ness and Corina,
That was so much fun to watch! I always love the chemistry between the two of you, and this video was certainly no exception. I had a huge smile on my face the entire time. Corina's voice sounded just lovely and Ness's harmonies really filled the whole thing out just perfectly. I loved the outtake video, too. Yes, Cori and I have seen that side of Ness! Hehe....
Beautiful job from two beautiful women!

Daryl: Phew!!!! Very very glad you liked it, even with a few extra chords, haha! And yeah, can't help it, I'm a super sucker for harmonies as well, I just love to add them whenever suitable, great to hear you liked those, thanks Daryl!
Cori: Hey my friend! Shivers? Gosh, I always find that a big compliment! :cheer: And yes she is a good egg. Making music with others is one thing, but sharing it with friends is the absolute best, wich as you well know made me indeed come over to the States in december!
So yeah, sharing it with someone that close friendship-wise and distant-wise as well, that's really great! Thanks Cori, so great to hear you enjoyed this addition to the thread!
Pierre: Ha Pierre!
Yep, you could've jumped in right away, absolutely no sweat

17:00 hrs read Shel's invitation to enter thread.
18:30 hrs set up music room for quick record.
18:45 hrs record Gold Watch Blues
19:00 hrs eat Fonue and drink fine white wine.
19:45 hrs upload video to TG and sit back wait for Shel to wake up in Oz (05:45 hrs). Arrange to have brunch at home in the morning with good friend and watch final of Australian Open same time.
Gold Watch Blues by Donovan
Capo 4 played entirely on one chord (Am) with just a little 2 note walk down simulating two more chords but not playing them (C / G/). Simplest song I know (except Jambalaya).
Well, simple or not...it sounds nice!! I love this olde mistrell-y (definitely not a word) ballad. I really enjoyed the tale and you told it
quite well!!
Out of curiosity, what are the origins of this one? Ireland? Scotland? Or somewhere else perhaps?
The rhythmic pattern and the minimal minor tinge there, kind of reminds of "Shady Grove." Well, I sure enjoyed it Chris. Thanks!
The thread continues to be quite fun & surprising...
quite well!!

Hi Cori.
Gold Watch Blues was written by Mick Softley with whom Donovan did a lot of early work. He is Scottish and from the British folk scene around the early 60's a contemporary of The Beatles and Bob Dylan. I think he's been refered to as the "Poor MAn's Dylan" which is totally unfair as he has a lot of really nice folk bollards: check out Catch the WInd, Colours, Universal Soldier, mellow Yellow and Sunshine Superman. I like this style of protest song... what happened to all the protest songs in this world, there's more to protest about than ever before!
