An old favourite of mine was a combination of an Indian Pale Ale and a Sweet stout approx 50 -50, called a Black and Tan. Now the Beers were Tennents Sweet Stout and the Ale was possibly a 70/- one can't recall the company, both Scottish though.
Here in NZ my favourite at present has to be Speights Old Dark. Speights is a South Island brewer and the name is humourously said to mean
S = Superior,
P = Piss,
E = Enjoyed,
I = In,
G = Good,
H = Hotels,
T = Throughout,
S = Southland (South Island province)

MJ- If you're going out of your way to find Sleeman's- don't. You'll probably have an easier time getting your hands on the Shimay I mentioned earlier in this post..

Currently they are looking for some Sleeman for me, as I requested a bit to see if Al knows what he is talking about......LOLfinding out ones favourite can be a full time job
my local beer store called "The Beer Store" thebeerstore.ca has way too may choices.
"The Beer Store offers more than 300 brands from over 70 brewers from around the world - and the selection continues to grow"

No Al, I was just teasing. I do have some Sleemans on order though. The guys at Bevmo are curious about it as well. I'll let you know when I give it a go.MJ- If you're going out of your way to find Sleeman's- don't.
