Hey everyone, thanks so much for all the kind feedback!
Willem - yeah, I’ve had a bit of a G.A.S. attack recently
Picked up a Line 6 Pod interface and a couple of mics, and some nice software came with the Line 6 - now just have to learn how to get the most out of this stuff. Thanks for watching.
Stuart, Jim and Michele - thanks, your comments mean a lot after the fine work you all had done on this thread.
Chris - appreciate the kind words. I agree Dylan’s strength has always been in his lyrics (I don’t think anyone even comes close to him in that area).
Brad, Daryl and Bob - thanks for the support, glad you enjoyed it.
Chas - thanks man. About the setup - the two mics are running into a Line 6 Pod Studio Kb37 interface, which in turn runs into a Macbook Pro running GarageBand, where I was able to enhance the sound a little.
The video was shot with my iPhone and imported into iMovie on the Macbook. To get the sound track from GarageBand into iMovie, I had to export it to iTunes first, then was able to just drag it into iMovie (this is the first time I’ve ever worked with separate sound & video - I suspect there’s a more efficient way to do it). The cool thing is, I know I’m just scratching the surface of what this gear can do, and it’s already sounding better than I expected.
Pierre - you’re pretty close, I didn’t have the lyrics up my sleeve, but on a screen just off camera - otherwise I usually mess up the last verse or two of that song, especially with a camera rolling. I do have a couple of other Dylan songs down fairly well - I would actually rather have done “Idiot Wind” instead, but it’s really too long to post here.
Marc - thanks, those high notes are a bit dicey for me - sometimes I can hit them, sometimes I can’t. Guess I was having a good night last night.

Terrific, Michele! I love this old Dylan tune, and you did a great job with it. Sorry I'm so late to this thread.Hi everyone,
Here's my contribution to the Dylan thread - If Not for You. I'm cheating a little. This is actually the George Harrison version, but given that Dylan wrote it I figured it was fair game.
Another experiment - a little hit and miss. But, hey we're busking right.
Thanks for watching.
Michele
PLEASE NOTE: If video was recently uploaded it will not work yet. YouTube will need a little more time to get the video ready. Please check back again soon.
Good job Jim. Another one of my favorite Dylan tunes.
A couple suggestions:
- Play it a little slower and try to keep the strumming a little steadier.
- And turn the mike down a little bit as your vocals were a little distorted.
