Thanks jean

I was just getting ready to slink off with my tail between my legs. I guess I am one of the pirates. :side: wow, I like that word pirate. We're gonna need to work that word into our new song.

On a more serious note, I'm sure TG has changed a little over time. Life is all about change. Some good and some not so good. It's okay for people to express their sentiments about the changes. I know that Neil values all of his students. I know he is listening. Nobody wants anyone to leave, so keep complaining if you must, after all it is your thread. :) and don't mind the pirates, bloody hell mate, were just writing a song. :)
Actually, Sandy, I was glad to see the levity. I think things were getting a little intense, so it's good to see how some fun and humor can come out in unexpected ways. I think that anything good has to change otherwise it becomes stagnant and stale. I'm willing to go with it and know that maybe we're just on a new direction for a bit that will make the whole better than before.

That being said, why do I keep hearing in the distance, "Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life for me!"? I can't imagine.

Hi Tom

You totally made me laugh. You know, I worked in the operating room for years, so the sawed off leg would be no problem really. Oh and I love birds so the parrot is a must :)
Bloody hell maties, you've been busy since I've been snoozing. So generous of you to offer a radical half-leg Sandy. :) how about I just walk heavily on one of them like I'm auditioning for Stomp. Eye-patch - I'll forgo the eye poke too if you don't mind, how about I just develop a nasty twitch instead, (of course I could end up with a lot of slaps across the face and a few expressions of interest :) - guess I should be careful who I aim it at). Sword, I LOVE swords. Funny hat, check. Earring, OK but I'll need to get my ear pierced again, maybe I could just use the tip of my sword. :) Beard, well I wore a moustache for one of Neil's birthdays so I guess I'll just need to try harder for the beard. Parrot on my shoulder, how about a poodle instead, a talkie poodle. Attitude, arrrrrrrAARRRRRRR!

So matie where the bloody hell are the new improved lyrics?

I have to say the shift in direction of this thread is one of the many things I love about TG. Lots of creative people who will use any excuse to get a song started. :) :)

I'm sure Al Stewart would be proud to hear that you're now incorporating pirate into your song. Do you have a progression in mind, if not remember there are a zillion songs that are just I, IV, V, vi. And just let the song develop. If you end up doing Calypso because you get inspired by a pirate oriented lyric, go with it. There's a fun journey to be had here.

No slinking off Sandy. It's about time you got a little noisy. :) It's bloody good fun to watch mate. :)

Arrrrrhrhrhrhrh!

Ha ha Sandy, sawn off leg. I think I will pass (out that is  ) There's always someone lurking with a unique set of skills. I bet you keep them in that tool bag Neil is always talking about. :) How's the song coming along? ;) :P Forget the Parrot, Al says we need a Terradactile in there somewhere. Actually a pterodactyl would be even better.

I hear Jean is enjoying the banter :silly: and Dermot has invented a new musical concept based on the circle of fifths. It's called the triangle of dangerous notes. He must be printing Scottish tenners in his basement again. Just kidding Dermot. ;) :P :)

Hi Michelle

I just read your stuff and I can't stop laughing. I have tears running down my face. A poodle on you're shoulder ? Why not. Are you sure you don't want that amputation? I hear those wooden pegs are all the bloody rage.

About our song. Well it's gone from an Erie finger picking toon in A minor, to a loud and boisterous something or another, to a rap song, and now perhaps a calypso. I like it. This could be fun.

Okay fellow pirate, carry on mate.

P.S. So glad the rest of our rowdy gang is starting to show up. Feel free to chime in all of you guys. There's lots of room on the ship.
