Andy did you mention already that we signed George Martin up for this... or shall I tell everyone? ;-) ... we may need him!

Hi Mark we need it played in F. So that's Either:

F D# A# Gm C Cm
or
Capo1 and E D A F#m B Bm

or any other way you can come up with key of F.

OK. I'll go with tuning it down and playing it open. Should get a fuller sound out of that.

Wow, things are rolling on fast. I just saw this at work yesterday and didn't have a lot of time last night and checked in again today. Looks like we've got a lot of talent lined up. Even some back up singing. I just listened to one of the posted EJ versions or our song and lots of OHHHHH and AHHHH in some of the background to fill in the vocal, are we going to be trying for a full background on vocals or just harmony on words?? Hope that makes sence. I'm sure you all will let me know what is coming next. Gary
ohhhhhh......
ahhhhhh......

(well I can also do some word harmonies if I am granted a speaking part)

ok. I will stop being a smart aleck. Should I be doing something yet? So remember, I am a neophyte at this collaboration stuff. I have been singing along with Chris's recording, just to see if I can do a nice harmony. But how will we record this and put this all together? Should I be practicing guitar and stuff?

Better George Martin than George Michael. Michael wants money.

I'm almost ready to send out the GP base track so everyone that is interested send Chris a message.

EDIT:
More changes here. Check with Chris for updates.

I'm also programming a drum track, but I'm not a drummer so it may take a while. I have Acoustica Beatcraft. Good program.

Izzy at the moment it would be good for you to listen to the original Elton John track and listen out all the vocals you think you could do. We will be dropping 2 half steps down so we'll be a little lower. We will get a reference track out within a week or so (I hope) so that you can practice at the right pitch. We will let everyone know soon which steps need to be taken andgive a few tips on how to record or practice.

Mark and the other guitarists: Just to be clear, I dropped the idea of tuning down 1 step and playing G as that would leave us at F#. At the moment were are in F. Here's the chord sheet again set out for Capo at fret 3. Then you can play D C G Em A AM and we are again in Key of F. http://www.totallyguitars.com/images/fb ... _capo3.doc

Chris,

Its getting confusing with all the discussion of half steps and such.
Just tell me how you are tuned and playing please.

Tuned down 1 step and played open in F?

I might have to delay a day or so on the base track to make sure I have the keys and capos correct.

...Andy you've got mail!

It's in the posts above Andy at the moment we reckon we will be in F ... but as those are unpleasant chords we are capoing at
fret 1 and playing E D A F#m B BM
and maybe
fret 3: D C G Em A Am

Chris, Ok Great!
Can you also make one for Capo 5 or 6? Prefer 6 since we already have 3.
This will give us some alternate voicings and fill out the sound.

Thanks everyone, for sending me your addresses. Chris is going to handle to passing out of tracks and collect them all from you guys and then send them to me. So, any addresses I have I'll send to him to include. Please send any other stuff direct to him. Or if you have a general question, post it here.

Sorry about the confusion, I assure you, it was all my fault.
