New to guitar
Laneto,
Only you know what you can afford, however, spend enough to get a good guitar, don't settle for a cheap piece of junk just because it is inexpensive.
As far as what brand the best thing to do is take some time go around to as many music stores as you can and play as many guitars as you can. When you find one that feels right and sounds right that is the one for you.

I agree with most of what RC says. Ask around, ask good guitarists listen to good guitarists. I recall going from an el cheapo guitar to my first quality solid top acoustic and wow my playing sounded better and inspired me more. SO cheap is not always a good thing, plenty mid range good sounding guitars available. But really try befoer you buy
