Here's a strange coincidence- a couple of my students have been working on Dolly Parton tunes and this week Nesh has put together a lesson on I Will Always Love You.

I Will Always Love You is a song written and recorded by American singer-songwriter Dolly Parton. It turned out to become a big hit for her twice, First in 1974, and again in 1982 with a re-recording for 'The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas' soundtrack.

This lesson teaches the movie version. The arrangement was done in the absolute key of Ab, a half step lower than the original,

We take a look at the chords with shapes in the key of G (Capo I), including its little variations, the fingerpicking and an easy strumming pattern for later parts in the song.

As Parton says herself, 'it's just one of those simple little songs that says nothing and yet everything. It's very simple'.  It should be doable for pretty much everyone.
