I finally watched the guide on how to use the forum and gather that I should introduce myself. I played guitar as a teenager but the accidental demise of that instrument and all the new things that came along like a terrific marriage, graduate studies and a career in science, led me to put it aside for quite a while. I always hoped to get back to it and last year on the occasion of a rather early retirement, I ran out of excuses and bought a new guitar. The good news was that even though about 35 years had elapsed I could still remember a handful of chords. The bad news was that that was all I could remember...
Fortunately the internet is available this time around, so I spent a lot of time looking for quality guitar instruction on the net until I stumbled onto TG. I lurked as a guest for a few months and then finally joined TARGET. Although I'm lucky to have a very good local teacher I haven't figured out how to replay his lessons when I'm home practicing. I've found that this site to be a terrific resource; I've learned a lot here and it's available whenever I need it. So many thanks to Neil and the rest of the staff. I look forward to learning with you.
