Neil, I have been trying to figure out the chords or riffs used in four fairly uncommon songs. Three are "Yin and Yang the Flowerpot Man", "All in my Mind Acoustic Version" and "American Dream" by Love and Rockets; the other is the "My Baby" by the Pretenders. I have looked all over the internet for answers to this and cannot find it. Once you listen to them you will understand why I am attracted to them.
thidisbogus- Welcome to the site! We're glad to have you with us!
What are you asking Neil to do? If you are hoping he will listen to these songs and then transcribe them for you I can promise you that won't happen. Neil probably has over a thousand, maybe two thousand songs that have been requested since this site opened up last April/May. Only a tiny percentage have ever become lessons.
As a new member you should know that this is not a song or transcription site but is completely dedicated to learning. So if these songs have teaching value ie. they contain an unusual technique or an odd key or chord structure they may interest Neil to do a lesson. But there is no chance Neil will have time to help you with transcription unless he happens to have the tab already.
Your best bet would be to learn to transcribe these songs yourself. There are lots of people here who can help you with doing that. Also, there is a group on this site that trades tabs or can find them. Chas has an incredible tab library so he may be able to help as well.
Good luck with your search and again welcome to the program!
Cheers! :cheer:

Thanks very much for your lengthy response and candor. I will try Chas and maybe post on a different forum subject. You are correct I am looking for assistance in transcribing. These particular songs do have some interesting variations and techniques, so who knows maybe if Neil looks at them he might find some interest in posting it, but I will not bank on it (nothing negative at all, I know from what you said Neil must be slammed).
I just didn't want you to get your hopes up so you didn't wait to learn a song based on what Neil might do.
I don't know if you saw this but here's the link to the Tab Group here at TG: http://www.totallyguitars.com/community ... orite+TABS
It's at least a good place to start. If you don't get much response, send a PM to Chas.
Good luck! :cheer:

Thanks very much for the link. You were intuitively correct. I was looking for it and could not find it. Also, I cannot find anything under a "Chas" in a search. How do I find him?
