Great stuff Andy!
Folks I've agreed with Andy that I'll be coordinating and informing here on the forum and with email about where we are and what we are doing. I'll co-ordinate with Andy behind the scenes as Andy is taking on the mother load of mixing the tracks and videos and setting up the references we'll be working with. Then I'll post here. SO post questions and ideas here and mail me on questions or whatever so we don't overload Andy unnecessarily and get confused amongst ourselves.... Andy's overload will be coming down the line in about 8 weeks time!!
Right now, I'm off to bed.. answers in the morning!

Wooha! Just checking the forum and I find we've been awarded a medal... founding members... that sounds cool!
Here's the news on the collaboration:
Andy is working on the GP files so we have something to work from. I haven't use GP yet but maybe this is the project that gets me into that. You don't need GP to be involved. We will have enough stuff to use in a form that works for everyone.
I will post another up-to-date video as a reference we can all start to practice with in terms of vocals and playing. It won't be the final structure of the song as we are still working that out. I plan to use a background midi file so I will use that structure and tempo, maybe it ends up being the structure we use. However, we will have something in the right key that will be close to what we want. I hope that's enough to practice with. We have plenty of time here and I don't want anyone to feel hassled at all. This is first and last a FUN project and our line from A to B may not be a straight one.
MY role at the moment is to coordinate things so please contact me through TGmail or email or post here. I have everyone's personal email. Andy will be our Mr. Mix and technical wizard so at some point he'll have to give up his day job to get the final mix(es) sorted! He's a braver man than I!
Here's the line up so far. Anyone can still join.
1 Izzyhara Harmony/ Backing vocals
2 sws626 Basic track and e-guitar riffs
3 Catman Bass
4 AntyT Video mixing / Vocals / Guitar
5 Heyjoe Electric guitar
6 Goldleaf Vocals
7 Heatndude Electric and /or acoustic guitar
8 Jayswett Acoustic Guitar
9 MarkM Acoustic Guitar
10 Chasplaya Guitar
11 neverfound Vocals
12 Wammer Vocals
13 d_dog Vocals
14 Craig Guitar track
We will use everything we get and we may end up with more than 1 version.

Ok. Attached here you will find the updated Chord sheets for playing with your guitar capoed at first and third fret. That will translate to the key of which we are using. Also you will find the basic midi file I am using at the moment before Andy set's us up with a GP version (it's the .zip file below). It may well be that this midi file is the best reference to work from seems simple enough for me, but let me have your feedback. If there is a problem with the files here, let me know and I'll mail you them.
I'll video play through using this midi as soon as I can record it (in the next 24 hours).

Fred would you like to sign up for a part. You can just go along with things and send us what you've done without signing up. No pressure.

Here's a play through of the first verse and chorus with the midi file playing in the background at 74 beats per minute. I'm playing version of the the chords for capo at fret 1. THe sound was a bit much for my laptop mike but I think we can live with this until we get a bit more advanced with everything. So here we are the key of F.
Good job, this will be a great reference. What did you have in mind for back up vocals?? Certain parts of the song? A full octave below would be my natural singing range. I could listen through an ear bud and video/audio with my videocam, my singing along with you, and octave below!! PM me so we don't confuse the thread any more than necessary. Gary
I love to follow this collaboration,,i'm also curious and want to learn something about this,,so i have a question about the capo ups,, i know all the three playing''s (open one step down//capo one one and capo on three)sounds all as the key off F,,is there any diffrent then only play maybe easer chords,, is there a light diffrent in the sound,, hope you understand me...goodluck on all the contributors,,,so curious to the end result in musical way and video editing,,.
