If you can record on Audacity or make an MP3 file or wav. file that should be fine Michele. Backing vocals will be fine
And I just saw that Andy answered your question before you posed it Michele... how's that for service!!

Okee dokee, just got off skype to Stuart in England.... we will have the final chord sheet up shortly and the basic guitar track done on Monday. That should start the snowball rolling down the hill: Bass, guitar tracks, lead vocal, backings, fill-ins e-guitar and the fat lady singing at some point (er... not OUR ladies, I mean the proverbial one!)
. Meanwhile.... it's bed time her in CH.

UPDATE: A glimpse behind the scenes.....

Hi Chris,
Sorry for the delay. I'm ready to record, but struggling to find half an hour without screaming children and ringing doorbells. Should have it for you by Monday at noon at the latest.

Hi Stuart
Monday is cool, if it's possible for you. I just need to inform the others otherwise we will lose momentum. We still have lots of time to complete and luckily Andy has not been swept away! This basic track is the platform that everyone will work from. Once it's up, everyone can work on their own time. Many thanks for this trail blazing work on this song Stu!
Chris
.... once the basic track is up, everyone can go at their own pace. I will add my vocal a.s.a.p. so that anyone else working on vocals has a reference to work with.
Looking forward to this really progressing in the next 3 weeks! As we originally said, if we can post the end result sometime start of April, that would be PDG. (Pretty damn good).
PS: Nick Wandoctor, you out there watching? Anything we need to be thinking about at this point......?

Hi Folks, hot out of Stuart's recording studio we have 2 MP3 tracks for you to use as reference tracks for your recording work. One has the metronome tick and midi sounds on it with Stu's basic guitar track. The other is without midi and without metronome. So bass, acoustic and e-guitar tracks can be done based on this. Stuart has very kindly left plenty of room for all the guitar tracks and hot stuff y'all wish to add. Many thanks Stu!!
Please make sure your recording does not have the basic track audible on it ... otherwise we can't mix you in! We will be uploading to 4shared.com and I'll be sending this info to all of you who signed up on email complete with login info to 4shared.
Sooooooooo over to you, guitars players!
Vocalists will have my lead track soon and maybe Ric and Gary can get there's ready too so the vocalists can work with you. Remember, we could well end up with more than one version and we will use everything that collaborators can submit.
HAVE FUN FOLKS!
EDIT:
Couldn't upload the files. Will try again tomorrow. ;-(
