Hi Willem. It's been fun watching your English improve massively over the past year and we all appreciate your humour and good nature and admire your ability to do all of this in a foreign language without holding back. English is so full of quirks (that's a cross between a captain of the Enterprise and an elementary particle) and special cases and colloquialisms. And many native English speakers confuse words like there, their and they're because they sound the same. I'm just happy there's a spelling checker in my browser so that I'm not confusing everyone with "creative" spelling!
Oke Chris,,i was just a bit wondering,,but Shell's 95% and your answer,,well i must feel at home..

Don't go learning TOO much English, Willem.

I enjoy your posts the way they are.

:)

I second everything Chris just said. And I still have to check my 'their's and other words that sound the same. And I only have 1 language, unless you count body language and I get that wrong too.
... are we talking dirty now 'shel? :-)
I claim the 5% ... I'm sure I simply don't know WHAT you mean Chris :P

Willem, I have to agree with what everyone here (or is it hear?) has said. Your English is VERY (or is it vary?) good.

Here's a list of homophones that might help confuse you more! :woohoo:

Chris,
Would that be the up, down, top, bottom, strange or charmed quark?

Willem,
Your command of English is coming along very well and I commend your efforts. This language can be a trial. Best to all,
Tom

The charmed has always been my personal favourite Tom. I didn't mention that quark is something you can have on your strawberries here or eat like a yoghurt with fruit... I think its curd... this I prefer even more ;-).

Daryl: Can we say homophone on TG? :-)

I think that word applies to people with a tendency to mistakenly dial their own cell number.

My personal favorite too Chris. Here's hoping that the gadget (LHC) beneath Geneva will get to the 'bottom' of all this quark stuff.

"Three quarks for Muster Mark!"

Tom

Gosh, this is probably the most egregious hijacking of a thread in TG history. Sorry Willem!
