Thanks so much! I hadn't thought of doing that before, but I have now subscribed. Very helpful advice.

Like Suzi, I'm also struggling to keep up with these threads! Thanks ffsooo3 for the useful advice.

In case I've missed someone - I'm loving all of these busking songs.......tempted to add one of my own - hmmmmmm! But big thanks to all who have posted so far.

Rapsidy - You've already been given some great advice, especially that of Vanessa - but maybe there is something else you could try and that is to simplify everything. At the moment you are taking on a lot of challenges with that riff - so why not remove one of the obstacles. Try playing it without the hammer-on. That will let you concentrate on getting the timing with your right hand without worrying about your left hand. Once you get the right hand timing you can then add the hammer-on. Just an idea.

Michele - this is great! A bit of a departure for you, I think, but a great addition to your videos. Loved the tech stuff, but that shouldn't deflect from a great performance from you. Fantastic.

Suzi - Thanks! I figured that I couldn't fingerpick every song. Besides, if I'm ever going to start playing with others I'll need to have a full tool box. Picking out the harmonica part was fun (you'll love it) and it's fun elaborating on it too (which I obviously didn't post). My resident harmonica player (in waiting...to start learning) hasn't progressed far either and I'm banned from taking them up ... for the moment anyway. Still after seeing my video (and cringing a little too, while also being impressed) Sue said that maybe she'll help me with vocal and harmonica tracks (so that's a good sign right?). And you're right, I haven't posted a strumming song before. The picking ones are just too damn pretty.

Chris - if yoiu want a kiss from Willem, you should just ask him, or play something with a harmonica part in it. :P

Pierre - you're a hard task master. I don't even know where to being... Take a breath as yoiu might be waiting a loooooong time. But, I'll consider it.

Ness - I'll tone down the saccharine, (to get the sweetness right). I make myself gag too sometimes.

Daryl - thanks for the you tube subscription advice, I've also been struggling to keep up and missing posts. I've subscribed, but I just need to work out how to get the notifications. It's just not obvious on the iPad version. Very helpful.

Stuart - Thanks so much. That means a lot to me. I'm trying to broaden myself out. And go for it on posting into on of these busking threads. I love your work.

Thank you very very much for your kind words Suzi, that's really nice to hear! (since I díd feel awkward! )

And I guess, you're right since I was asked to upload it to the Busking-channel (I mean it's not a busking vid' ), so they (the TG-team) must be alright with it.. :)

Thanks again for not leaving me out! :cheer:

Nesh: Your explanatory video to Brad was really great. Very clear and helpful. And I can't imagine that Neil would mind at all that you did that. I think he probably really supports us all trying to help each other out with songs we're working on, whether through written advice or through video advice (which, sometimes, is really the best because it's often easier to learn something on guitar if you SEE it instead of reading about it). And I might just go ahead and play the riffs with your video to make sure that I'M getting the timing down!

Lately I've finally been able to try getting used to playing in front of a camera ... here's a try with Neil Young's "HARVEST", a relatively simple tune played before a very simple camera. I also had some fun editing with AVS video and audio editors.

PLEASE NOTE: If video was recently uploaded it will not work yet. YouTube will need a little more time to get the video ready. Please check back again soon.

Pierre,

That was very cool. You looked very comfortable and sounded great.

You've got a nice voice too. It would be great to hear it more next time, ie. try to sing louder or mic your voice some how.

Thanks

Michele

Pierre,

Boy am I glad that I checked this thread out again tonight. That was great!!! I thoroughly enjoyed every second of that. Look at you trying to sneak one in on a busking thread. We need to see and hear more of the cosmicmechanic!!! Fantastic job!! I'm looking forward to my next visit to Montreal!!! Thanks for sharing.

Salut Pierre, great post, nice swing time strumming. Your voice is very good. It has been a long time since you posted. You need to do this more often.

Hi Pierre & Michelle,

I very much enjoyed both of these posts. Pierre, this is the first of yours I had seen. Nice work with the pick. You've really captured the spirt of this song.

Michelle, it's great to see your experiments with layering multiple tracks. I never doubted that you could handle a pick, but it's good to see you trying a new technique. the vocals were terrific. Someone suggested that you might grace us with a Joan Baez tune. That would be a real treat.

-Stuart
