Marc,

That was great. You've got a real feel for this song and I love the way you mixed the guitar parts. I haven't looked at the lesson so maybe thats the way Neil teaches it. It was good regardless.

I loved that you sang it too. The vocals add an other dimension to the enjoyment. You did a great job. Keep doing it.

I love (where's my thesaurus) hearing your accent come through as well.

Thank you Abilio, yes it is a big step , but I enjoy it already.

Thank you Vanessa, I did practice singing with the original and I was trying to take the same intonations, without the cd it is not that easy as singing is far from being natural for me. There are some notes or tone in the song that I cannot do, yet. Signing low is safer.

Thanks a lot Michele, I was trying to emulate Neil solo section. The solo got damaged a bit, but I did not stop, so I was happy about that. I really got a kick of playing and signing, as you said it is a totally new dimension. For the record, I have no accent, the rest of the world does ;)

Marc,

I really enjoyed that. You always play well and now adding the singing gives you more dimension.

Great job

Hi Mark- you playing was great as always.

Singing ! We are our own worst enemies we are so self concious about "sounding" bad that we are scared to try in case of failure. As well we listen to a recording of a song that has been so worked, produced, mixed, fixed and who knows what else to sound great and it makes us think we cant sing and should never try..

My personal belief is God gave singing for us to all enjoy not just a select few people, granted our audience may not be as big as others but nevertheless it is ours to learn enjoy and express.

I think too often we try and sound like the recording, when we are all unique like a finger print so we should be unique..

who cares if we miss a note or sing out of pitch at least next time we know what to work on and the more you do the better it will get, but the more self concious we are we will tend to stifle the voice and it wont be as good. So i say just do it enjoy it and like everything if you practice it you WILL improve.

Saying all that your singing was good it didnt sound bad or out at all, just need to get more confident and be happy to do it and if you make a mistake who cares, at least you are doing it.

FANTASTIC I thought and look forward to your next one no turning back now :)

Marc,
Nice job! Way to go on sticking to your resolution! I'm still singing behind closed doors only! You are giving me inspiration.

Strumming and barre chords have always been more difficult for me than finger picking. That seems backwards for some reason, but that's the way it is for me. So, in an effort to become a more complete player, I've tried to work on some more strumming/barre chord type songs. I'm a huge Pink Floyd fan so this song seemed like a good one to try to learn.

Thanks for posting your video Craig and for joining the buskers! Lots of difficult chord changes there and you managed them no problem so I thought you did really well. Nice job!
Looks like you've played a little Football there... right? And the accent.... sounds almost Canadian, but I thought you were American, are you up north in some mid west state near the border or are my ears playing games with me? :-)

Sounded really cool Craig. I enjoyed that a lot. I'll bet those mixed rhythms can be tricky on that. Like I said, I really liked it a lot!!!
Also,I agree with you about strumming vs. finger picking. I think they both have their hurdles & roadblocks.
In my opinion, there are too many nuances of both techniques to assume that one is necessarily learned easier by
all people, than the other one.

Hi Craig,

I am not totally familiar with this song, so I went and listened to Neils play through. It sounds to me that you're well on your way. Keep at it!!
