Wha ? Where am I ? For a moment, I thought I was at a high school dance at the closing song, which was always a slow dance, of course.
It was ok to be nonchalantly slouching against a wall or chatting it up pretty much any time throughout the evening, but NOT DURING THIS TUNE !
So you did it again, Chris ... now I gotta play it some more, gotta go back, so many I now have the guts to ask to dance !

Many thanks Ken and Pierre! Had to laugh at your comments! Pierre, in my day, going to the dance floor for those last couple of songs at the disco before closing was euphemistically called, "going for a grope" !! Not by me but by a mate in Sheffield... in the appropriate accent... I can still hear him saying it now!

Thought this may be interesting, Justin Hayward talking about making Nights in White Satin. Apparently the BBC erased the original recording off the tapes they used for it's first radio broadcast!
And another funny story involving Nights:
Justin is in a Karaoke bar and a Norwegian guy and his wife sitting near him were looking in the book of songs on offer and the guy saw Nights in White Satin and wanted to sing it but changed his mind for My Funny Valentine. Justin leaned over and told him that he's sing MY Funny Valentine if he'd sing Nights. The guy agreed. Justin went first and the people politely applauded the the guys gave Nights all he had and brought the house down. Apparently no one recognised Justin.

Send Me No Wine
Another Moody Blues song notched up
.
I have always liked this brief song even though it never did get any air time. Its on the Threshold of a Dream album, so quite early. It was the riff and Justin’s voice I liked. It has taken me ages to get this riff up to speed. I slowed it down a little and changed the Um cha, um cha, um cha rhythm as I find it detracts from the feel when all you have got is one guitar (and they had guitars, bass, drums, Melatron and lots of vocals). And I managed to sing the second verse 1 ½ times but what the heck … bet no one would have noticed except Bear, Bill and Neil. This was actually the test run and in honour of Tony, the (low) E string is out of tune. Happens to the best of us
.Thanks for listening!
Edit: I'm not lisping ... something happened to the sh and s sounds in the upload. Sounds perfectly ok on my original... honest!

Chris
Really nicely played. We're well used to you singing these songs well, but I think this may be your best playing. Certainly the best I can think of off the top of my head at 2:30am! Great job - and nice to see you keeping the thread going.

Thanks Stuart! It's actually 3:30 am here... so time we both got a little shut eye!
Man, I haven't heard this song in about 40 years, and the last time I listened to it I was lying on the living room floor of my apartment in Hollywood with a woman named Valerie, and I had my blacklights turned on, and I was watching a bug crawl across the ceiling, and Valerie was making little circles with her index finger in the hair on my chest.
Ah, good times.
Chris, your singing is always excellent, but this is probably the best job I've seen you do on the guitar. That's a tough little riff you've got going there, and you brought it in masterfully.
Thanks for reminding me of my well-spent youth.
